CONCERT HALL HRVATSKI DOM SPLIT: Mandolina Spalatina

Mandolina Spalatina presents works by composers who are either born in Split or have a significant artistic connection to the city. The compositions of musical masters such as Josip Hatze, Jakov Gotovac, Ivo Tijardovac, a versatile revitalizer of Split's musical life, and Boris Papandopulo, author of one of the largest opuses in Croatian music, will be showcased.

The esteemed mezzo-soprano Terezija Kusanović, bass Marijo Krnić, and the City Mandolin Orchestra "Sanctus Domnio" whose artistic biographies guarantee exceptionally high-quality performance and presentation of Split's musical creativity, will bring these compositions to the audience.
The concert program will feature works by Ivo Parać, Franjo Serafin Vilhar, Hatze's solo songs, excerpts from Tijardovac's operettas, and Papandopulo's cycle "Varoške pjesme iz Splita i Kaštela" (1950), containing eleven love-themed songs arranged in contrast, where the singer introduces traditional tunes based on the composer's notes.
The program will also include works and arrangements by contemporary composers for mandolin orchestras who have contributed to the preservation of Croatian musical tradition, aiming to promote, preserve, and reaffirm Croatian musical heritage and tradition, as well as to showcase contemporary Croatian musical creation.
