Vedran Perkov - The End of Art
Vedran Perkov was born in Split in 1972.
He graduated in painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan in 2002, in the class of prof. Diego Esposito.
He works at the Painting Department of the Arts Academy in Split. He was elected to the position of assistant professor in 2009 and obtained permanent employment in 2017.
He is a member of the Croatian Association of Visual Artists in Split.
He has held numerous solo exhibitions in Split, Zagreb, Rijeka, Osijek, Poreč, Dubrovnik, Pula, Rennes, Quebec, and Milan, and participated in a great many group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad.
He has participated in workshops and artist-in-residence programs in Croatia, Italy, Sweden, Latvia, Algeria, France, Canada, India, and the USA.
In 2007 he was the winner of the Radoslav Putar Award and the Grand Prize at the 35th Split Salon.
At the 2018 edition of the Croatian contemporary visual arts award T-HT nagrada@msu.hr he won the third prize.
He won the Grand Prize at the 13th Triennial of Croatian Sculpture in 2018.
In addition to artistic work, he also curates and organizes exhibitions, occasionally writes introductions and forewords to his colleagues' exhibition catalogs, and designs exhibition set-ups.
His works can be found in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Istria, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Split.
He lives and works in Split.
