Location: North-eastern part of the facade of the Split fish market
Time: October 8, 2021 - November 5, 2021
The small Split fish restaurant PiNKU fish & wine is organizing a series of open-air exhibits of paintings, photographs, and illustrations entitled Na rubu Peškarije (On the edge of the fish market).
The exhibition space is the north-eastern part of the facade of the Split fish market, and the idea is that the exhibition, as such, is available to all passers-by and visitors every day during its duration. This exhibition promotes the cultural scene of the city of Split and revives cultural events in the open space in the city center. The event Na rubu Peškarije is a kind of revival of significant locations in the city and the desire to turn them into an open-air gallery for a short period.
The position of the Split fish market and its importance to the "people", along with the already defined and interesting gastronomic ensemble in Obrov Street, close the circle of the positive ambiance of a city micro-location. The somewhat marginal concept that the PiNKU diner promotes through its gastronomic story defines the name of this event, which takes place literally on the "edge" / "corner of the Split fish market.
As part of the project, works by Split photographers, painters, and designers will be exhibited in a series of four consecutive exhibitions.
NA RUBU PEŠKARIJE 2021 opens with an exhibition of photographs by Sonja Dvornik entitled Happy Moment (October 8-15).
The second exhibition in a row is called Jadranski Golači from October 15, photographs by Pero Ugarković, a continuation of the story from last year when we enjoyed the photographs of beautiful Adriatic crabs. The exhibition aims to introduce us to the fascinating sea creatures that live next to us.
Split designer of visual communications Saša Pocrnić with the exhibition IGNORE! (if you can) is also part of this series starting on October 22. The exhibit will give a concise and clear insight into the implemented design solutions of selected projects while creating an engaging presentation of the synergy of innovative and progressive independent scene and graphic design.
The series of exhibitions will close on October 29, 2021, with an exhibit of paintings by academic painter, cartoonist, and musician Vinko Barić called Subrealism.
The exhibition of each of the artists is on for a week. The first is starting on Friday, October 8, at 8:00 pm. The event runs until November 5, 2021.
