13th SUMMER MAGIC OF CLASSICAL MUSIC - The Winnipeg singers/choir

Summer Magic of Classical Music is a long-standing summer festival of the Split Music Youth that has gradually grown into an important cultural event in the city of Split. The festival aims to enrich the concert and cultural offerings of the city during the summer months, providing citizens and their guests with top-notch musical experiences in ambient spaces in the heart of Split.

As in previous years, this year's thirteenth edition of the festival continues its primary focus - collaboration with young musicians. Additionally, the festival fosters international cultural cooperation and this year collaborates with artists from Austria, Slovenia, Canada, and Norway.

The festival would not exist without the collaboration of the Split Music Youth, the main sponsor, the Tourist Board of the City of Split, and the hosts in the beautiful spaces of the Museum of the City of Split. The program runs from mid-June to the end of September, featuring eight concerts, six in the cellars of Diocletian's Palace, and two in the newly renovated Old City Hall managed by the Museum of the City of Split.

Location: Cellars of Diocletian's Palace

Date: August 8, 2024, starting at 8:00 PM

The concert is organized in collaboration with the 70th Split Summer Festival.

The Winnipeg singers is considered one of the finest Canadian choral ensembles performing a diverse range of choral music to the highest standards.

The Winnipeg Singers consist of 24 professional singers, interpreting music spanning from the Renaissance to the present day. Every year, the choir commissions new Canadian works and premieres other new pieces for its audience in Manitoba.

Annually, they present a concert series, engaging some of the finest musicians in North America as guests. The Winnipeg Singers have held joint concerts with diverse organizations such as Shakespeare in the Ruins, The Ron Paley Trio, MusikBarock Ensemble, Winnipeg's Contemporary Dancers, and Les danseurs de la rivière Rouge. Singers regularly appear as guests with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra, the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, and have held concerts and workshops for local social agencies, businesses, and high schools.

Established in 1972, The Winnipeg Singers have twice been recognized for excellence in choral music by the Canadian Council through the Healey Willan Award.
