NOTICE OF BEACH UNAVAILABILITY AT ŽNJAN PLATEAU FOR THE 2024 SEASON

NOTICE OF BEACH UNAVAILABILITY AT ŽNJAN PLATEAU FOR THE 2024 SEASON

Due to the comprehensive renovation works at "Žnjanski Plato" (Žnjan Plateau), which commenced in February 2024, we once again wish to remind the public that during the 2024 season, the beaches within the construction site will not be accessible to bathers. The only exception on the plateau will be the beach for persons with disabilities, which will remain open throughout the duration of the works (in front of the Amphora Hotel). The beach for persons with disabilities on the Žnjan Plateau will be open to visitors until Sunday, September 22, 2024. Lifeguards and assistants for persons with disabilities will be available until that date. Starting Monday, September 23, 2024, the beach will be closed to the public due to the continuation of construction work on the Žnjan Plateau. Access will no longer be permitted, as it will become part of the construction site.

This project is of strategic importance to the City of Split, eagerly awaited by all, with the commencement of works announced as early as the end of 2023 and the estimated duration of the works being one year. The contractor for the renovation of Žnjanski Plato is Lavčević d.d. and Lavčević-inženjering d.o.o.

Furthermore, the entire plateau area is not available for parking until the completion of the works, as well as parking spaces along the road due to ongoing works on two other projects in that area. The beaches that will remain open and are not affected by the works are those near the Radisson hotel towards the city center.

From the municipal company Žnjan, the project investor, everyone is kindly asked to respect the prescribed signage and fenced-off areas to avoid any potential accidents and injuries, given the large number of machinery and heavy equipment on the construction site. Once again, all citizens and visitors are kindly asked for patience and understanding during the works, as upon completion, the residents of Split and visitors to the city will gain a new public space with numerous amenities and a beach that will rank among the most beautiful in Europe.

The Tourist Board of Split urges all accommodation providers in the Žnjan Plateau area and its immediate vicinity to provide timely notifications to their guests who book accommodation regarding the construction works in that area. Such transparency will enable guests to adequately plan their stay and avoid potential inconveniences, thereby contributing to the preservation of the destination's reputation and guest satisfaction.
