OPEN DAY AT THE ETHNOGRAPHIC MUSEUM / RADIO IN THE MUSEUM

Location: Ethnographic Museum Split

Date: April 13, 2024,
 10 am - 2 pm

Join us for a morning musical gathering at the Ethnographic Museum Split, which opens its doors to all visitors!

Did you know that the Ethnographic Museum Split is the oldest ethnographic museum in Croatia? Since its establishment, this museum has been a place of continuous work in promoting rich material and non-material heritage. Its exhibition presents highly valuable ethnographic materials that introduce visitors to the former lives of the people of Split, the coastal residents, islanders, and those from the Dalmatian hinterland.

The museum is located in the western part of Diocletian's imperial palace, where Diocletian's bedrooms used to be. Within the museum building is the Church of St. Andrew de Fenestris from the 7th century, one of the oldest churches in the Palace. From the museum's space, visitors can access the Renaissance terrace located on the edge of the former Vestibule vault.

In addition to free entry to the museum, our hosts have prepared free pop-up workshops (age: 15+) for dry felting, weaving, painting canvas bags, and making jewelry. There will also be expert-guided tours of the museum and its rich collection.

Before the tourist crowds, we invite the March sun with an eclectic music selection from the KLFM Soundsystem.
