Filip Vlahov: Evidence

Exhibition Opening: Thursday, November 9th at 7:00 PM

In the creative hub Prostor, organized by the "Culture Hub Croatia" platform and Design Hub Split, an exhibition titled "Evidence" by the Split-based artist and design student Filip Vlahov will open on Thursday, November 9th at 7:00 PM. 

The exhibit will be on display until November 24th, on weekdays from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

The "Evidence" exhibition is part of the Design Month program organized by Design Hub Split and the "Culture Hub Croatia" platform. Throughout November, various design-related events will take place at several locations in Split.

According to the introduction by Flore Novak, this is the first solo exhibition of the Split artist and design student Filip Vlahov. It takes us into a meticulously interpreted world of linear design of human and animal anatomy that goes beyond the boundaries of reality. The artist's extensive drawing and precise arrangement of lines create a surreal dynamic of volume that describes the liveliness of the depictions, including those of pure skeletons. Such detailed linear description which prompts the observer to consider the recent movement of motifs in a metaphysical sense, the artist has perfected in previously created copper engravings. These engravings, in addition to a series of anatomical drawings created using a technical pen and ink on paper, are also visible as part of the "Evidence" exhibition. In addition to the graphic technique of copper engraving, the author was significantly inspired by historical medical and anatomical illustrations, as well as Polish posters related to the depiction of the human body.

The patron of the "Evidence" exhibition is Pivnica Prostor, located at 32 King Zvonimir Street, Split.

The exhibition is part of Design Month, the Creative Hub Prostor's program co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and Media of Croatia.
