EXHIBITION: WITNESSES OF HISTORY

EXHIBITION: WITNESSES OF HISTORY

Location: House of Language and Culture Peristil (Poljana kraljice Jelene 1, 21000 Split)

On the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the beginning of the Homeland War, Prokultura - Cultural Policy Observatory has the honor to announce and invite you to the opening of an exhibition of Croatian war photography by photojournalists Matko Biljko and Bože Vukičević entitled WITNESSES OF HISTORY.

The exhibition will open on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 7 p.m. in Prokultura - House of Language and Culture Peristil, accompanied by the rest of the rich program. It was initiated and prepared by the Foundation of Croatian Memory under the leadership of its president, Mrs. Antonija Jolić, curator, graphic designer, and researcher of public politics of memory culture.

Along with the associated catalog, the exhibition presents only a small part of the oeuvre of these two giants of Croatian photography. Thanks to the collection of rich materials created during the Homeland War, the Museum of the Homeland War Dubrovnik and the Croatian History Museum, as well as the support of the Croatian Memory Foundation, we become witnesses to an extraordinary time in Croatian history. During the exhibition, a round table will take place, and the film by Mario KrceSlike rata (Images of War) - Matko Biljak, will be shown as a courtesy of HRT.
