As an announcement of this year's festival of contemporary circus "Peculiar Families Festival" (June 9 - 11, 2022 https://peculiarfamilies.org/en/), we invite you to the performance "Lento e violento" by the French-Italian group Calentine Vortese on May 31st at 09:00 p.m. at the City Puppet Theater Split.

“Lento e violento” is a hybrid performance that combines new magic, contemporary dance and physical theatre. This performance is a riddle, a multi-layered enigma, a creation in which the action is repeated, in which new magic creates an illusion, doubt and irony.

And what is new magic? New magic, or magie nouvelle, is a new performance genre that combines old illusionist techniques and knowledge of human perception with new technology and dramaturgy.

The performance uses English text so it is suitable for ages 14+.

"Lento e violento" was pre-selected for the circusnext project in the 2020-2021 edition. circusnext is a project of identification and financial, residential, promotional and administrative support of emerging contemporary circus authors from Europe through the platform of 28 organizations from 16 European countries.
