19th INTERNATIONAL ROWING REGATTA SVETI DUJE

Location: Riva

Time: Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

In 2000, 175 years after the first regatta on St Domnius Day, INTERNATIONAL ROWING REGATTA SVETI DUJE was restored by the Rowing Association of Dalmatia and has been taking place every year since. The International Rowing Regatta „Sveti Duje“ consists of two competitions: Student regatta in Spinut and Legends race in front of the Riva.

Legends Race is a rowing spectacle that takes place in front of the Riva, Split's famous waterfront promenade. The participants of this show race are crews representing the legends of Oxford, Cambridge and Split. Oxford and Cambridge legends are the alumni that have rowed in the legendary Boat Race on the river Thames in the past 10 years and that have won the brightest Olympic and World Championships medals. Those legends will be confronted by our Olympians, rowers of the Croatian Rowing Club Gusar who are defending the colors and honor of Split.
The crews representing the legends of Oxford, Cambridge and Split will compete in the royal discipline of eights. The rules are simple; the course is 220 meters long and the winning team is the one that wins two races first. Fast, energetic and attractive, it's the Formula 1 of rowing.
