Location: House of Language and Culture Peristil (Poljana kraljice Jelene 1, 21000 Split)
On the eve of the upcoming feast of St. Duje (Dujam, lat. Domnius), the patron saint of Split, in the House of Language and Culture Peristil powered by OTP, an exhibition of one of the most famous Croatian artists, Josip Botteri Dini, is opening.
With his illustrations, Josip Botteri Dini confirms himself primarily as a thinker and then as a painter to whom faith and spirituality are a great inspiration. In the words of Drago Šimundža from the introductory essay of the catalog: ''Academic painter Josip Botteri Dini warmly and sublimely creates, following persistently textual visions and life events, Domnius's reality and its immanent transcendence. With his coloristic handwriting, he works life-giving, deeply religious, and yet so stylistically pure and religiously mysterious.''
The exhibition entitled "Saint Duje protect us!" opens on Wednesday, April 28, at 05:00 p.m. in compliance with epidemiological measures and remains open for viewing until May 18, 2021.
Author of the project St. Duje on the Peristil (square in the center of Diocletian's palace): dr. sc. Nansi Ivanisevic.
