Manifestation “100 years of women’s movement in Split” started according to plan in the first week of March. During that time we marked March the 8th or International women’s day by opening two exhibitions; painting exhibition of the art group “From the body of paint...” and exhibition of work made by the participants of the creative sewing and embroidering workshop held in the organization Domine. Both exhibitions were held in “Golden gate” and lasted for 15 days during which they were free of charge for all the visitors.
Following the exhibition, night march for women’s rights was held. Moto of this years’ march was “Count on the resistance – 100 years of women’s movement in Split”. March was dedicated to the women who organized themselves 100 years ago because they wanted to make a positive change for all women in Split and to all women of today’s Split, Croatia and the world which marched on International women’s day to remind us that their freedom was won in the long fight that is still going on.
Second part of the manifestation will be held during the last three months of the year, in the time for 100th anniversary of establishing first female led co-operative in Split. During those three months we are planning; DikaMarjanović Radica cookingweek in cooperation with Split restaurants; female artists’ week in cooperation with Split Art Academy and female entrepreneurs’ week in cooperation with Croatian Employers’ Association (Split regional office). Each month one of the events will be held. As a final event we are planning to put upon exhibition about women’s movement, people and events that were connected to it during the last 100 years.
