The Church in Prizidnica was built in 1546 by the priest don Juraj Stojdražić. The sanctuary was built within a beautiful natural environment on the south side of the island, on a cliff by the sea. It is 460 years old and carries many stories and legends through its history. Pilgrims make pilgrimages to Our Lady of Prizidnica four times a year: on Easter and Whit Monday, and also on the Day of the Holy Name of Mary and the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The greatest number of believers come for the Day of the Holy Name of Mary, when the sanctuary is full of pilgrims, not only from Slatina, but also from the entire surrounding area including their guests.
