13th SUMMER MAGIC OF CLASSICAL MUSIC- Ensemble Celeste/vocall ensemble (POSTPONED)
Location: Cellars of Diocletian's Palace
Date: July 18, 2024, starting at 8:00 PM
Summer Magic of Classical Music is a long-standing summer festival of the Split Music Youth that has gradually grown into an important cultural event in the city of Split. The festival aims to enrich the concert and cultural offerings of the city during the summer months, providing citizens and their guests with top-notch musical experiences in ambient spaces in the heart of Split.
Ensemble Celeste presents thematic projects where, in a kind of musical theater, they interpret through music, verse, prose, and movement, encompassing the full artistic potential of its protagonists. The selected musical pieces performed by this ensemble span five centuries of musical history, from the Renaissance in the 1500s to contemporary times and premieres (B. Juračić, J. Ostojić).
Their literary program is equally broad, ranging from the ancient, archaic roots of old languages to the inevitable classics of foreign and domestic literature. The performers gathered in the ensemble are students and alumni of the Zagreb Academy of Music: Vlatka Kladarić, soprano; Rea Veseli, soprano; Ines Grubišić, alto; Tomislav Jukić, tenor; Jurica Jurasić Kapun, baritone; Fabijan Komljenović, baritone, also a student at the Academy of Dramatic Art; and Neven Boltek, baritone and organist.
With their projects dedicated to passion themes, Ensemble Celeste regularly participates in the Passion Heritage cycle in Zagreb, at the University of Zagreb components, and performs full evening concerts abroad at the La lunga notte delle Pievi in Carnia festival (Italy) and at the Franciscan Theology in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
