EXHIBITIONS: "SILENCE AT 7-METER THROW" & "FRANJO BUČAR (25.11.1866 - 26.12.1946)"

The Croatian Sports Museum, in cooperation with the Croatian Sports Association of the Deaf and the University of Split, invites you to the opening of two exhibitions, "Silence at 7-meter throw" and "Franjo Bučar (25.11.1866 - 26.12.1946)". The exhibitions will be presented by author Martina Vargek, curator of the Croatian Sports Museum, and opened by the Rector of the University of Split, prof. Dragan Ljutić.
About the exhibition "Silence at 7-meter throw".
The exhibition entitled "Silence at 7-meter throw" presents the history of the Croatian handball national team of the deaf and is organized on the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Croatian Sports Association of the Deaf. The exhibition is adapted for blind and visually impaired people with audio descriptions of texts, video materials, and three selected objects, and, in cooperation with the Croatian Library for the Blind, the exhibition catalog has been published in Braille letter. The exhibition consists of two parts. The first section shows the historical development of handball in the world and Croatia, and the second refers to the establishment of schools for deaf children in Zagreb, Split, Varaždin, and Rijeka, as well as the first sports clubs and handball sections of the deaf.
About the exhibition "Franjo Bučar (25.11.1866 - 26.12.1946)".
The exhibition Franjo Bučar (November 25, 1866 – December 26, 1946) was presented to the public for the first time on the occasion of awarding the State Sports Award "Franjo Bučar" in the Croatian Parliament building in 2018. The exhibition is based on materials from the funds of the Croatian Sports Museum and shows the life of Franjo Bučar and his work in the development of numerous sports in Croatia. The exhibition is adapted for blind and visually impaired people, and, in cooperation with the Croatian Library for the Blind, the catalog has been published in Braille letter.
