Location: Concert hall Hrvatski dom Split (Tončićeva 1, 21000 Split)
KRISTINA KOLAR, soprano (special guest)
Festive New Year's ball
Time: Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at 8:00 p.m.
The Viennese tradition of celebrating the New Year with recognizable rhythms of waltzes and polkas from the works of the Strauss family and other European composers has spread to numerous European cultural centers. At the first New Year's ball organized by the Split Concert Hall, our fellow citizens will have the opportunity to dance on the polished podium of the Banquet Hall to the music of an orchestra from the heart of Austria. Ladies in evening dresses, gentlemen in dark suits or tuxedos, and an appropriate toast and cheerful mood will remind us of some ancient, forgotten times from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. It is a wonderful opportunity to create a new Split New Year's tradition in the inherited and revived Concert Hall. The special guest of the evening will be the national opera champion, soprano Kristina Kolar, winner of numerous awards, including the prestigious national "Milka Trnina" Award (2010) for the role of Santuzza in the opera Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni. Kristina Kolar has so far performed some of the most famous operatic roles: G. Puccini: Turandot (Turandot), Tosca (Tosca); G. Bizet: Carmen (Carmen); G. Verdi: Aida (Aida), Macbeth (Lady Macbeth), Nabucco (Abigaille, Fenena); P. Mascagni: Cavalleria Rusticana (Santuzza, Lola), etc.
