6. Bach Days in Split
The "Bach Days" were launched in 2012 by two professors of the Music Department of the Academy of Fine Arts of the University of Split, Pianist Vesna Podrug and Viola player Wladimir Kossjanenko, and take place every year on March 21st around the composer's birthday.
The 6th Bach Days were organized by the Musical Association ARTEMIS in cooperation with the Academy of Arts and the Student Council of the University of Split, the Music School "Josip Hatze" and with the support of the City of Split, the Tourist Board of Split and Marina Kaštela.
Three concerts will take place during the week.
On Tuesday the March 21st, at 8 pm, in the hall of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb Street, the students of the music department of the Academy of Art and students of the music school "Josip Hatze" will perform in a joint concert.
On Wednesday the March 22nd, at 6 pm, the young pianist from Zagreb Kosjenka Turkulin will play the "Goldberg Variations" in the hall of the Academy in Faust Vrančić Street 19.
At the closing concert on Saturday the March 25th at 8.30 pm, in the foyer of the Croatian National Theater in Split, the Virtuosos of Split will play together with students of the strings section of the Academy of Arts under the direction of Wladimir Kossjanenko. The program includes four brilliant instrumental concerts. The soloists are: Cellist Mihovil Karuza, Violinists Fritz Gearhart from Oregon, Dragan Radosavljević from Berlin and Alina Gubajdullina from Zagreb. The concert program ends with the appearance of excellent young Croatian pianists Lovro Marušić.
